Paul Cezanne was a famous post impressionist painter. Cezanne's planes of color and use of small brushstrokes conveyed intense study of his subjects. Both Matisse and Picasso are said to have remarked that Cezanne "is the father of us all." Paul Cezanne was born on Jan. 19th 1839 and died on Oct. 22nd 1906.
